TEMELEC, Sonoma County — Sonoma County advises every resident to learn the evacuation-zone name for home and work before a wildfire, major storm or other emergency, including people living in Temelec.
The county provides an address-based evacuation-zone search and interactive map. The published guidance says standardized zones are intended to make emergency warnings and orders more consistent than ad hoc boundaries, although zones can be revised slightly over time. Residents should also learn neighboring zones and share their zone information with friends or relatives outside the area.
A map displaying the zone does not mean an evacuation is active. During an actual event, the county may post road closures, evacuation warnings or orders depending on conditions. A warning is a reason to prepare to leave promptly, particularly for people needing extra time, while an official order means leave as instructed.
Information for residents
Residents can subscribe to county warnings, maintain a medication and essential-document checklist and avoid using 911 for routine information requests. The county also lists 211 as a general information resource.
